Puerto Vallarta, like any other culturally rich place is full of art, beauty and poise. Some of the critics even term Puerto Vallarta as the Heart of Mexico. Puerto Vallarta has seen such magnanimous growth over the past five years that it makes you just applaud their efforts. Not only is Puerto Vallarta naturally beautiful, but it is also enriched with art. More than 30 art galleries have been opened all the way through downtown, Marina Vallarta and Vallarta's South Shore. Almost everyday there is an electrifying art show or festival held in Puerto Vallarta. What is most exciting is the fact that most of the festivals pertaining to art in Puerto Vallarta are free and open to general public. This not only makes art accessible to the locals and tourists, but also engrains the seeds of cultural enrichment amongst the people. Leno Morfin, a Jalisco born artist recently featured his painting exhibition at Los Mangos Library on May 8th 2009. Moreover, Leno Morfin also held a free Chinese painting workshop on the 9th of May. This workshop featured the ancient traditional technique of paintings created in water which, are then printed on to paper. This is a Chinese style of painting, which Leno Morfin used dominantly in his own work as well. Leno Morfin is expected to tour most of the Mexican museums after his exhibition in Puerto Vallarta along with Luis Durot, a French painter. Another benchmark for the art enrichment Of Puerto Vallarta was the donation of a 4 x 6 feet yarn painting of Huichol artist, Martin Benitez. This painting was donated to the Vallarta Botanical Gardens by the late Isabel Jordan's relatives.
